A little braggin' on the hubby!

Paul has been a fantastic support for me since we have moved out to Colorado. I don't know what I'd do without him! I of course have had my ups and downs being so far away from family and friends and I guess you could say I have been a little more emotionally "unstable" at times than what Paul has been during this time of transition. Thank goodness that the Lord made men so different from us women! I can't imagine two of me right now! Anyway, I guess all of this to say, even though I miss all of you back home dearly, I feel blessed that the Lord gave me Paul. We have had a lot of fun out here together and believe that this journey has strengthened our marriage! We're looking forward to what the Lord has planned in the days to come!

Paul and I were supposed to go stay up in a cabin in the mountains last weekend but found out they were forcasted to get 14 inches of snow. We know our '89 Buick can handle a lot but weren't sure we should put it up to a challenge like that! We made the best of it and got semi dressed up and had a date at Texas Road House for supper.

Last Monday I came home from work to see these beautiful flowers sitting on our kitchen table with my name on it! One of those "just because" gifts from Paul! I told him he is welcome to take more study breaks at Flowerama anytime! :)

A taste of true Colorado weather!

Last Sunday morning we woke up to a taste of winter with snow and cold temperatures!

This is what we had by Monday...Sunny and in the 60s again! Hope it does this all winter! :)

Fall Fun!

Today Abby went to the Littleton 14th Annual Harvest Festival and Pumpkin Sale. The neighbor girls invited her to come. They had a fun day taking part in wagon rides, drinking hot apple cider, walking through a pumpkin patch, and enjoying other fun festivities like jumping rope, learning how to make apple cider, and even trying to walk on stilts! When walking through the pumpkin patch, they all agreed that they missed their cheaper pumpkins they were able to purchase back in the Midwest. They decided to wait and save some money by picking up a pumpkin to carve at the nearest money saving Wal-Mart!

This last weekend we got to take in a Rockies baseball game at Coor's stadium. The seminary gave away $1 tickets to students and their families a while back so we got to enjoy some cheap entertainment away from the seminary on Saturday night. We sat with our neighbors from the seminary, the Wiens family. The Rockies managed to pull off a victory which made the experience that much more enjoyable!

Our family away from home!

Meet some of the people that are very dear to us out here! We are so grateful that the Lord placed the Wiens family across from us in our apartment building at the seminary! We couldn't ask for better neigbors and they have helped make our tansition out here so much easier! They are from Minnesota and moved here about 2 weeks before we did this summer. Kyle and Stacy have two girls, Annaka (6) and Katarina (10). They are the sweetest girls and we have enjoyed being around their refreshing energy and loving nature! A couple weeks ago, they came over for the afternoon and I got to see their creative minds unfold. Before I knew it, we were perfoming a play, a revised version of Little Red Riding Hood. These girls are going to go far with their big ideas. We went all out for the performance...costumes, makeup, staging, props, you name it! We finished our preparations right before Paul got home from work so he was able to enjoy the performance! Here are some pictures from the fun had that afternoon!

A fun-filled family weekend!

Abby's parents came to visit over Labor Day weekend. We had a fun low key weekend with them enjoying being outside in the beautiful Colorado weather! Most mornings began with some time on the trails behind campus walking and biking. Saturday morning we walked over to Hudson Gardens next to the seminary to enjoy the beautiful array of colorful plants and flowers. Paul had to work on Saturday so Abby and her parents did some shopping, an activity that Paul wouldn't feel like he was missing out on! On Sunday we went to church here on campus and then out to eat for Mom's birthday. We took the light rail downtown Denver for the day and checked out Union Station and some other shops downtown. On Monday we ended up spending most of the day at Washington Park. Mom and Dad left late Monday night. We had a great time with them and hope they come back and visit again soon!

Dad's new exciting buy and evolving hobby! If anyone is looking for harmonica lessons, this pro should be ready to give them soon! Be ready to dance around and play at the same time!


We took Mom out to eat for lunch to celebrate her birthday on Sunday. This was a quaint little place we discovered in historical downtown Littleton.

We rented a bicycle for four at Washington Park before Mom and Dad took off on Monday. A step up from the tandem! The only downfall was that it only had one gear! We all got a chance to sit in the drivers seat and do the stearing!

We stuck around Washington Park for the afernoon enjoying the Colorado weather. We enjoyed a game of Five Crowns before having to take Mom and Dad back to the airport to head home.

A day at the zoo

A couple weeks ago, Paul and I decided we were going to enjoy a late anniversary celebration by going to Elitch Gardens (aka Six Flags) in downtown Denver. It was on a Monday so we were looking forward to shorter lines since the kids would be in school. Needless to say, we got all the way downtown and saw a sign saying that the park was only open on the weekends until they close in late October. We tried to make the best of the bad news and decided to check out the Denver Zoo nearby. We enjoyed making friends with some of God's colorful and quite unique creatures!
